Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Unhinge handles personal information when creators and businesses use the marketplace.

Information we collect
We collect account identifiers such as email address, name, optional email, role, profile details, portfolio links, social handles, follower counts, company information, messages, bookmarks, and marketplace activity. We also receive basic technical information needed for security and service operation.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, publish creator profiles, operate discovery and messaging, maintain shortlists, measure profile performance, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, and meet legal obligations.
Public information
Creator profile fields—including name, username, bio, location, categories, rates, availability, social links, follower counts, and featured work—are public. Do not publish information you do not want publicly accessible.
Sharing and processors
We share data with infrastructure and communications providers only as needed to operate Unhinge, including Supabase for authentication and database services and an email provider for OTP delivery. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users and the service. We do not sell private messages or personal information.
Retention
We retain account and marketplace records while an account is active and as reasonably required for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Public creator information is removed or anonymized after a valid deletion request, subject to required retention.
Your choices and rights
You may update profile information from your dashboard. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, withdraw optional consent, or raise a grievance by contacting us. Identity verification may be required before fulfilling a request.
Security and children
We use access controls and encrypted transport, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Unhinge is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
International processing and changes
Service providers may process data in other countries under appropriate safeguards. Material policy changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
